The almond tree has an average life span of 20-25 years. An older tree uses a lot more water than a younger tree, thus with the current drought we have decided to take out an older orchard and plant younger trees to assist us with our water consumption.
After harvesting, we de-shell the almonds to remove the husk and inner shell. This process removes sticks, stones, leaves and cracks the inner shell of the almonds before we send it through the sizer. We size our almonds according to client requests.
